Mental Health Awareness Week occurs every May. It is an opportunity to bring the UK together and shine a spotlight on mental health issues and well-being treatments and techniques. Every year, the Mental Health Foundation develops a theme for the week to help people across the UK improve their mental health. Mental Health Awareness Week takes place from the 13th to the 19th of May this year, and the main theme is “Movement: Moving more for our mental health.”
While many can struggle to find time to get movement in throughout the day, whether due to disability or a busy work-life schedule, getting in exercise can massively enhance one’s mental well-being.
There are plenty of ways one can take part in Mental Health Awareness Week this year, either by taking steps (literally) to take more time for your own mental health, helping others around you directly and indirectly, or donating and partaking in various causes and charities – such as the Mental Health Foundation’s ‘Wear it Green’ campaign.
At Central Window Systems, we’re running fundraising activities every evening this week to help raise funds for the Mental Health Foundation. However, our main attractions will be taking place on Thursday, 16th May, when we’ll be participating in ‘Wear it Green’ day and drawing all raffles.
On ‘Wear it Green’ day, we’ll all be going green in the name of mental health. As the international symbol for mental health awareness, you can help support our fundraising campaign by donating, sharing posts on social media, or wearing your own favourite green outfit or accessory. We’re sure to have a wonderful turnout, so be sure to follow us on our socials to see our teams’ colourful outfits, and discover which of our lovely participators wins the raffle!
But that’s not all! On Thursday, we’ll also have our ‘Pie in the Face’ event, where we’ll be making a mess of our lovely management team! All money raised will go straight to our cause, and we couldn’t be more excited to see how the week unfolds.
