Your “one-stop” supplier for retail & commercial fenestration products
Choosing the right Sheerline aluminium profile can make a real difference to your next installation’s appearance, performance, and practicality. With several window and door systems available, understanding their differences helps installers recommend the right products for each project.
At Central Window Systems, we manufacture a wide range of Sheerline aluminium windows and doors. We work with two main options: Sheerline Classic and Sheerline Prestige. Each style offers distinct advantages in styling, configurations, and thermal performance.
The main difference between Sheerline Classic and Prestige profiles is their design focus. Classic styles prioritise slim sightlines and refined aesthetics, while Prestige provides more options across window configurations and project specifications.
| Feature | Sheerline Classic | Sheerline Prestige |
| Main advantage | Ultra-slim sightlines | Greater versatility |

Sightline figures reflect specific manufacturer configurations and vary by selected frame and sash.
Sheerline Classic windows are designed to maximise natural light with minimal visual obstruction. With opening sightlines as slim as 59mm and fixed-frame sightlines as thin as 36.5mm, Classic offers a refined aluminium window system suited to both contemporary properties and traditional renovations. The range is available in four distinctive styles:
Decorative glazing bars also let installers create Georgian- and Art Deco-inspired designs, making Classic particularly appealing for heritage-style projects.
Sheerline Prestige windows give installers greater flexibility across different property types and project requirements. The 72–80mm aluminium system accommodates casement, French, fixed and tilt-and-turn windows. With three outer-frame options, a full-depth eurogroove, and concealed ventilation options, Prestige suits projects with more complex specifications.
Prestige also includes pre-gasketed clip-in beads, streamlining glazing and installation without traditional wedge gasketing. For installers working on new-build developments, replacement projects or commercial installations, these features provide valuable flexibility without compromising the system’s modern appearance.
Both Sheerline Classic and Prestige profiles incorporate Thermlock® multi-chamber technology, designed to reduce heat transfer through aluminium window frames. With triple-glazed U-values as low as 1.1 W/m²K for Classic and 1.0 W/m²K for Prestige, depending on the configuration, these figures demonstrate the thermal capabilities of both systems, although individual specifications should always be checked before ordering.
Security is another important consideration. Both ranges offer enhanced security features, including robust construction and secure glazing options. Prestige uses a full-depth eurogroove to accommodate multipoint locking hardware, while Classic’s beadless construction removes a potential point of attack associated with conventional glazing beads.
Sheerline’s wider product range lets installers create coordinated glazing solutions across an entire property. For traditional or industrial-inspired projects, Sheerline Classic Heritage Doors complement Classic windows with slim aluminium frames and distinctive period-style detailing. The Prestige collection adds flexibility with matching entrance doors, bifold doors, and lift-and-slide patio systems. These products are especially useful for larger residential developments where consistent styling matters. The Sheerline S1 Roof Lantern offers another option for flat-roof extensions and orangeries, bringing in natural light while maintaining contemporary aluminium styling.
The best Sheerline profile depends on the property’s architecture, performance requirements and preferred window configuration. For projects prioritising minimal sightlines or heritage-inspired aesthetics, Sheerline Classic offers an excellent balance of style and functionality.
When greater configuration flexibility, tilt-and-turn functionality, or specific thermal requirements are important, Sheerline Prestige may be the better choice. Both ranges offer customisation through colours, finishes and glazing options, allowing installers to tailor their recommendations to individual customer requirements.
